{"id":156,"date":"2025-06-15T16:17:24","date_gmt":"2025-06-15T16:17:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ticrwanda.org\/?page_id=156"},"modified":"2025-06-15T16:47:27","modified_gmt":"2025-06-15T16:47:27","slug":"where-we-are","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ticrwanda.org\/?page_id=156","title":{"rendered":"Where we are"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Tiberias Initiative for Children (TIC Rwanda)<\/strong> operates in <strong>Rwanda<\/strong>, a country in East Africa with a strong national commitment to <strong>inclusive development<\/strong> and <strong>child rights<\/strong>. Rwanda is divided into <strong>30 administrative districts<\/strong>, organized in 4 Provinces and the City of Kigali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rwanda has made significant progress in recent years in areas such as <strong>education<\/strong>, <strong>health<\/strong>, <strong>gender equality<\/strong>, and <strong>disability inclusion<\/strong>. However, many <strong>implementation gaps<\/strong> remain, particularly for <strong>children with disabilities (CWD)<\/strong> and other disadvantaged children \u2014 especially at the <strong>community level<\/strong>. <strong>TIC\u2019s mission<\/strong> is to help close these gaps through <strong>local action<\/strong>, <strong>family empowerment<\/strong>, and <strong>national advocacy<\/strong>, in line with <strong>Rwanda\u2019s NST2<\/strong> and the <strong>Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Current Geographic Coverage<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At present, TIC\u2019s <strong>core programme, Mwana Ukunzwe (Beloved Child Program)<\/strong>, is fully operational in <strong>Gasabo District<\/strong> (City of Kigali), with both <strong>school-based<\/strong> and <strong>community-based activities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, some programme beneficiaries come from neighboring districts, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Rulindo District<\/strong> (Northern Province)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nyarugenge District<\/strong> (City of Kigali)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kicukiro District<\/strong> (City of Kigali)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This natural outreach reflects the <strong>demand from families<\/strong> and TIC\u2019s <strong>inclusive approach<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Vision for Geographic Expansion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TIC\u2019s <strong>Strategic Plan 2024\u20132028<\/strong> defines a clear ambition to progressively <strong>scale its programmes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Extend <strong>existing programmes<\/strong> to reach a broader population within <strong>Gasabo District<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Formalize outreach and partnerships<\/strong> with <strong>neighboring districts<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Expand to additional districts<\/strong> in Rwanda based on community needs and partnership opportunities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to <strong>national policy dialogue and systems strengthening<\/strong> (Advocacy, Data for Change), with <strong>national-level impact<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage in <strong>regional collaboration<\/strong> and knowledge exchange with other East African actors working on <strong>inclusive education<\/strong>, <strong>health<\/strong>, and <strong>child rights<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the medium term<\/strong>, TIC aims to operate at <strong>multi-district<\/strong> and <strong>national level<\/strong>, while maintaining its strong <strong>community-based approach<\/strong> and its commitment to <strong>quality and impact<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Rwanda<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rwanda is a landlocked country in East Africa, with an estimated population of <strong>13.2 million<\/strong> (2023).
