{"id":150,"date":"2025-06-15T16:07:29","date_gmt":"2025-06-15T16:07:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ticrwanda.org\/?page_id=150"},"modified":"2025-09-02T11:57:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T11:57:11","slug":"who-we-are","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ticrwanda.org\/?page_id=150","title":{"rendered":"Who we are"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Rationale<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tiberias Initiative for Children (TIC Rwanda)<\/strong>  is a nonprofit that builds community solidarity and safeguards the rights of disadvantaged children\u2014especially children with disabilities\u2014to health, education, and inclusive development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Rwanda, many children with disabilities and other vulnerable children still face major barriers in accessing their fundamental rights \u2014 including education, healthcare, protection, and social inclusion. <strong>TIC  Rwanda was founded to help close these gaps<\/strong>, working hand in hand with families, communities, and partners to ensure that no child is left behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our work is rooted in a <strong>child rights-based approach<\/strong>, centered on the <strong>child and their family<\/strong>, and aligned with <strong>Rwanda\u2019s National Strategy for Transformation (NST2)<\/strong> and the <strong>Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To improve the health, education, and development of disadvantaged children and their families through <strong>community-based, institution-based, and rights-based approaches<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Vision<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A world where every child, whoever they are and wherever they are, enjoys all their rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Specificity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The child <strong>within and with their family<\/strong> \u2014 recognizing the essential role of the family in the child\u2019s development and well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Philosophy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Jesus fed 5,000 people on the shores of Lake Tiberias; today, it is our turn to accomplish such miracles for the benefit of disadvantaged children.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;All children are children of the World&#8221; (Samputu, Rwandan musician). Let us share our bread to improve their lives.
